Nimbus -The Traveling Blythe

I would like to introduce my traveling blythe- Nimbus.



Nimbus was inspired by the sky. Her hair has been dip dyed a lovely sky blue. Her eyelids depict clouds.




La Petite Pamplemousse lovingly donated her skills to make the perfect dress for Nimbus.
SoulsFireDesigns created her pulls and a special charm with her name on it. I am so grateful for the generous and loving people in this hobby.



Nimbus is very excited to start her adventure.

It has been a joy creating Nimbus. It makes my heart happy to know a little piece of me will be traveling all over the world.

The Traveling Blythe Project

There is this lovely project called the Traveling Blythe project.

The main gist of the project is-

First a blythe doll is customized.

Then she is hosted by many people through out the globe.

And we get to follow her on all her many adventures through the traveling blythe blog as well as flickr.

I was lucky enough to be chosen as a customizer for a traveling blythe this year.

It is a dream come true for as I have always wanted to make one since I discovered Blythe.

I already have a rough idea of how I want my traveling blythe to look.

Since she is a traveling blythe I wanted her theme to be something about travel.

She will be flying through the sky to her many destinations so I thought why not make blue sky and clouds inspiration.

She already has a name - Nimbus. Here is quick sketch I have already for her.

I can't wait to see her in real life all finished.

I Scream You Scream

This is my Hollywood Blythe Doll named Doris Day. She and this cute Bling Bunny wanted to wish everyone a happy summer. Stay cool out there.

Ivy

Just finished a new custom blythe doll.



Her name is Ivy.



She was previously owned. I really liked what the previous owner had done to her lids. So I used that as inspiration for the rest of her.



I love her cherry stained lips with hair to match.







There is so much spunk and personality in her eyes.

Throwaway Pet Update

Just a little update to the shop with some throwaway pets. I also added some of my favorite doll prints for the first time ever! Come and visit.

Instagram Love

My past week in Instagram photos.

1) We took a drive out to the country. I fell in love with these barn doors I wish I could use them for my house. 

2) Rusted out blue tractor.

3) I have another Kenner Blythe doll I am trying to restore myself.

4) The girls and I went to an Alice in Wonderland party.

5) A cute girl at the party. I loved her garden hat.

6) The walls are coming up on our garage.

9) Love notes from my 4 year old. I love her!

Tinyfeet in Candyland

I feel so lucky because I get to contribute once again to the amazing online magazine for blythe Tinyfeet. There are so many talented artists in magazine I feel honored to be a part of it.



This issues theme was Candyland.

Blueberry Thimble

My newest custom doll is a little pixie named Blueberry Thimble.



Blueberry has a cute little pet owl named Lovey. Her favorite past time is collecting thimbles.



The following work was done on her-

-Mohair re-root hand dyed. Soft and fluffy.
- Nose Carving
- New face-up with tiny blue and green freckles.
- Gaze lifted.
- New outfit including thimble hat.







I made her custom home in a carrying case.





I love how this little owl loving cutie pie turned out.

Thrift Store Thursday

I did not find very many treasures at the thrift store today except for this vintage My Little Pony. She was 25 cents!



I think My Little Pony and Blythe go together like ketchup and fries.

Nightmares and Fairy Tales

This is my latest custom for a dear friend. She wanted a custom doll inspired by Annabelle. A character in the Nightmares and Fairy Tales book series.

Annabelle is a rag doll that is believed to be cursed and that whoever falls into possession of her is sometimes cursed themselves.









She has been stitched with love.




I even altered a dress and made the bow, which is a first for me. I am not good at the sewing skills. I usually have someone else make the clothes for my custom dolls. 




I enjoyed creating this dark little princess.
